Pain Level Study Report
*"Poler" : People who pole.
** Normal people " People who don't pole..
I am a "poler"*. Most of my pole dance friends think I am a pretty " flexible" person. But being flexible comes with pain.
I think it is a very painful journey when you stretch to reach the flexibility you need for certain moves in your routine. When you get through certain level, it usually gets easier to stretch more. I guess first, the body of course has lengthened ligament, and second, congratulations, you built up a higher tolerance to the pain.
So I did a little bit studies:
Level 1: Basics - Most normal people** could experience, like the cramps on your period, peeling off the hangnails from your fingertips, or somehow you hit your elbow and by accident it is where you have your bruise. But I have no problem standing this kind of pain.
Level 2, Oversplit.
It is a leg flexibility move. Nice and easy.
And here is my role model Emily.
Level 3, Back bend.
Back bend is something I worked over years. I still didn't reach the ideal flexibility. How to describe the pain? Hmm, I feel that my kidneys are going to be squeezed out...

Level 4, Middle Splits
Middle splits is mostly hip flexibility. I never managed to let my hips hit the floor. Whenever I am stretching for middle splits I have to find something to distract me, playing cellphone, watching tv and etc.
How do I feel about this pain? Well, after middle splitting for 3 min, I can no longer feel my legs and hips...

Level 5, Combinations
Use your imagination and combine them, like stretching both leg and back, or stretching both leg/back/hips and etc.
I am recently practicing a move called " the bird of paradise", it is a very extreme stretch with a lot of shoulders/hips/back/legs flexibility.
How do I feel about them? Every single time after I finish this move I feel dead.
Role model: Lisa
Oh, yes. I believe there are level 6, level 7 and above and infinite.
